Stories often astonishingly irrational, stemming from the unwavering belief that everything on Earth—forests, seas, islands—is just numbers on a (promising) balance sheet.
And thus, they inevitably reveal the most uncomfortable truth: climate disaster is not an accident. It is the logical end of an era that vainly prioritizes development over life. But can a society whose own values caused the crisis envision a way out?
