The new edition of the volume "Fundamental Commercial Legislation IV – Intellectual Property" was deemed necessary mainly due to the amendments introduced to Law 2121/1993 and Law 4481/2017 through recent legislation. Specifically, Articles 85 and 86 of Law 5105/2024 (Government Gazette A/61/29.4.2024), Articles 81 and 82 of Law 5179/2025 (Government Gazette A/26/20.2.2025), and Article 153 of Law 5221/2025 (Government Gazette A/133/28.7.2025) amended Law 2121/1993; while Article 87 of Law 5105/2024 (Government Gazette A/61/29.4.2024) and Articles 83 and 84 of Law 5179/2025 (Government Gazette A/26/20.2.2025) amended Law 4481/2017.

Otherwise, the structure of this volume remains the same:

I. Part One includes the basic national legislation on the protection of intellectual property and related rights. Specifically:

A. Law 2121/1993 "Intellectual Property, Related Rights, and Cultural Issues," as it currently stands, including all amendments up to February 2026.

B. Law 4481/2017 "Collective Management of Intellectual Property and Related Rights, Granting of Multilateral Licenses for Online Use of Musical Works, and Other Matters under the Jurisdiction of the Ministry of Culture and Sports," as it currently stands, including all amendments up to February 2026.

C. Selective reference to key Ministerial Decisions as well as individual provisions of other legislation that pertain to issues of intellectual property and related rights and, in our judgment, are of particular interest within the educational process, without, of course, claiming completeness.

II. Part Two features selective provisions of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU) which extend to the field of intellectual property law and related rights; and, from the secondary legislation of the European Union, the Regulations and Directives – for reasons of economy – are referred to based on their publication details in the Official Journal of the European Union.

III. Part Three mentions the main International Conventions/Treaties ratified by Greece, with reference to the number and date of the ratification law and the issue number of the Government Gazette where it was published.
