David Coverdale (formerly of Deep Purple) formed Whitesnake in 1978. Throughout the history of the band, many excellent musicians have come and gone including John Sykes, Adrian Vandenberg, Vivian Campbell, Ian Paice (Deep Purple) and the legendary Steve Vai.
