Game description: The sports version of boules, as a discipline, is called Petanque and is played by two teams:
- 3 players against 3 players, called triplet
- 2 players against 2 players, called double
- 1 player against 1 player, called tête-à-tête
The initial team is selected by tossing a coin. A player from the first team chooses the starting point and draws a circle on the ground with a diameter of at least 35 cm and no more than 50 cm. The first player, with both feet inside the circle, throws the jack to a distance of approximately 6 to 10 meters, keeping a one-meter distance from obstacles (walls, trees, bushes). The initial player tries to place the ball as close as possible to the jack. Both players must keep both feet inside the circle until the ball touches the ground. A player from the opposing team stands inside the circle and tries to place their ball closer to the jack than the opponent or to remove the opponent's balls.
The team with the ball closest to the jack wins the turn. The team whose ball is farther from the jack continues to play until they place their ball closer or concede. When the losing team exhausts their balls or concedes, the opposing team tries to place the remaining balls closer to the jack or to concede. When both teams have no more balls, the points are counted. The winning team scores as many points as the number of balls they placed closer to the jack than the opponent's. A player from the winning team throws the jack. The first team to reach 13 points wins. Any deviations from the above rules are permitted to enhance the fun.
