The stories in the book did not arise by chance. Years ago, I began writing portraits of my sources. They cover some major parts of my professional journey and two "prerequisites" of it: my genealogy and the period of the Metapolitefsi that shaped my personality.
In general, Greek homeland knowledge is amusing, often bittersweet, and you can enjoy it with the distance that years and frequent encounters with characters you first met two or three decades ago give you.
The president decided that the evidence was not sufficient to judge and, interrupting, ordered better evidence. More elements had to come. Then she lost consciousness and collapsed. It was both tragic and comical. As soon as she fainted, a voice was heard: "A doctor! A doctor! Please, a doctor!" The accused— all doctors—sprang up like springs from the dock, passed by the bench of the court like dancers—they were all men—and found their ties gently touching the face of the fainted president, forgetting that under different circumstances she could have condemned them...
