The Paperback board game is a deck-building word game in which players form words to acquire cards. The 10th Anniversary edition includes new cards featuring novel covers by various artists, as well as new starting decks that add more options and variety to the early rounds.
The Genre mode offers distinct tech trees and new ways to play, while the Deadline variant adds drafting and simultaneous play. Typos let players acquire a card that is a little farther away in exchange for a letter that makes their deck harder to use. Unlockable cards add new abilities. In solo play, Spy mode pits players against an automated enemy spy who causes trouble until the deck is strong enough to finish the game. A pack of classic variants for playing with the original rules is also included.
