Persephone and Hades are engaged. In retaliation, Demeter causes a snowstorm that paralyzes New Greece, and refuses to end it unless her daughter cancels her engagement. When the Olympians intervene, Persephone discovers that her future lies in the hands of ancient gods, who, however, are divided. Will they allow Persephone to marry Hades, resulting in a war with Demeter, or will they forbid their union and turn against the god of the dead? Nothing is certain except the promise of war.
