Broccoli sprout seeds are a rich source of valuable nutrients, such as vitamins A, C, B1, B2, PP, as well as trace elements (calcium, iron, phosphorus, magnesium), enzymes, and other enhancing substances. The most valuable component of broccoli is sulforaphane – a compound with strong anti-cancer properties, whose concentration in sprouts is up to 200 times higher than in mature broccoli. Broccoli sprouts also contribute to reducing blood pressure, preventing cardiovascular diseases and strokes, and thanks to their high antioxidant content, they strengthen the immune and nervous systems. The spicy taste of broccoli sprouts makes them ideal for salads and sandwiches.
Sprout Preparation
Growing sprouts at home is very easy using the Toraf sprouter. Simply follow the instructions and the sprouts will be ready for consumption in 3-4 days. The sprouter allows simultaneous cultivation of three types of sprouts. Alternatively, the sprouts can be grown in a jar by rinsing the seeds, placing them in a sterilized container, and covering them with warm water. After soaking for a few hours, drain the water, rinse the seeds again, cover the container with gauze, and place it in a warm (18-22°C) and shady spot. Rinse the seeds twice a day with water. The sprouts are ready to eat when they reach a length of 1-2 cm after 3-4 days.
