New hulls:
We wash the surface with a cleaner and rinse with water. We remove oils, greases, salt, etc. with White Spirit. We sand where necessary. We rinse with water and let the surface dry. We prime with 1-2 coats of the appropriate primer, UNI PRIMER (polyester), POLACRYL 301 or MARINE PRIMER (wooden surfaces), X-RUST or MARINE PRIMER (metal surfaces). For better adhesion of TROPIKAL 840, it is recommended to apply 1-2 coats of UNI PRIMER over any other primer.
Maintenance – already painted hulls:
We wash the surface with water. After drying, we remove old and loose paint. If the old antifouling paint is not compatible with TROPIKAL 840, we sand and prime with 1-2 coats of UNI PRIMER. In any case, we apply two coats of TROPIKAL 840.
TROPIKAL 840 is an antifouling paint for the protection of boats from the attachment of shellfish and algae. It is an antifouling paint suitable for plastic, wooden, and iron boats and for speeds up to 35-40 miles per hour. It shows a change in shade when submerged in water due to its composition.
Preparation
A basic requirement for achieving good results is thorough preparation.

Usage
The antifouling paint TROPIKAL 840 is applied with a roller, brush, or spray gun. It is diluted with 5-10% W.S. It must be stirred well before use. Do not apply when the air and surface temperatures are below 5°C or above 30ºC.
Drying - Performance
The ambient temperature and the thickness of the coating determine the drying time required.
Surface drying: 1 hour.
Repainting time: 4-5 hours.
Coverage: 5-9m²/kg, depending on the thickness of each layer and the absorbency of the surface. The boat should be launched into the sea 4-5 hours after the application of TROPIKAL 840 and for better results no later than 24 hours.
