NIJ IIIA Ballistic Protection Standard:

The NIJ IIIA is a ballistic protection standard established by the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) in the United States, which defines the resistance level against bullets and fragments for equipment such as ballistic helmets, bulletproof vests, and shields.

Specifically, NIJ IIIA means that the product has been tested and certified to withstand:
