This album contains texts and photographs of works and sketches by visual artist Daphne Mavrovouniotis Trimikilinioti. Beyond her artistic work, it also provides the reader with a portrait of the historical era of the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s, during which the artist’s life and work intertwine in an exciting and unique journey that begins from the era of colonialism in Cyprus in 1950, toward the years of uprisings in London of the '60s and '70s.
It also presents the artistic experiments of the visual artist, as well as the influences she received from various Movements of thought, Art, and Culture, from social struggles for peace, disarmament, equality, and democracy, as well as from the struggles and anxieties of the Cypriot diaspora alongside the fighting peoples, the anti-dictatorship struggle in Greece, and the drama of 1974 in Cyprus.
