"Cursus Edition A" is an educational resource for Latin that breaks new ground in many areas as an early second language. It fully incorporates new discoveries in subject teaching, learning psychology, media technology, and language methodology. Proven elements from the Cursus tradition continue. The content distribution follows the latest developments in curricula of various federal states. In total, approximately 1,300 words and phrases are learned, combining basic and cultural vocabulary. The educational resource consists of two parts: the textbook and exercises, and the accompanying grammar.
The textbook and exercises include a total of 45 lessons and 5 transitional reading lessons. The texts of lessons 1-45 take students back in time to the ancient world. Each lesson text begins with a brief content overview and an introduction to the new grammatical phenomenon. This introduction is mainly action-oriented and methodologically diverse. The textbook and exercises also contain a variety of exercises, detailed information, cultural elements, explicit and selected illustrations. There are many tasks and prompts for action-oriented educational projects and assignments.
After every four lessons, there is a "Culture Station": "Antiquity and Present" as an opportunity to review and deepen grammatical content and expand cultural knowledge.
Vocabulary learning is facilitated by many learning tips and references to words in modern foreign languages as well as German loanwords.
