Description

The digital car paint & varnish thickness gauge with LCD screen is designed to measure the thickness of the paint and varnish layer on magnetic (ferrous) and non-magnetic (non-ferrous) metal surfaces. The device uses Fe (ferrous) and NF (non-ferrous) type sensors, operating based on electromagnetic induction for ferrous materials and eddy currents for non-magnetic materials, such as aluminum or copper.

The measurement range is from 0 to 1300 μm, with a high resolution of 0.1 μm. It allows for zero and multi-point calibration, while it displays the values in microns (μm) or mils. It can perform measurements on surfaces with a minimum curvature radius of 1.5 mm (convex) and 25 mm (concave), with a minimum measurement diameter of 6 mm. The minimum thickness of the substrate (sheet metal) is 0.5 mm for Fe metals and 0.3 mm for NF metals.

It operates with 2 AAA 1.5V batteries, within a temperature range of 0 to 40°C and humidity between 20% and 90% RH, without the presence of strong magnetic fields. The dimensions of the device are 115 × 50 × 25 mm and its weight is 100 g.
