IN THIS FAIRY TALE, THE PRINCESS DOES NOT MARRY THE PRINCE. SHE KILLS HIM.
Mara, the youngest daughter of the royal family of a small kingdom, grows up in the monastery of Our Lady of the Blackbirds, relieved that she does not have to marry a prince to strengthen her parents' political power. Her older sister, however, is not so lucky, as she is married to the harsh and ruthless prince of the powerful neighboring kingdom. From the safety of the monastery, Mara can only hope for the appearance of a hero who will save her unfortunate sister from her abusive husband. After years of silent hypocrisy from their family, the young princess realizes a harsh truth: the hero she waits for does not exist; if she wants to save her sister, she must take matters into her own hands. If she manages to accomplish three seemingly impossible tasks, a witch will grant her everything she needs to achieve her goal. But this is only the beginning. With the help of some very special allies, Mara will embark on a dangerous magical journey to save her sister and overthrow a tyrant.
