Description

Description

Eleni Zetou Mountaki narrates her life, from the first steps as a student to her establishment as a volleyball athlete and later as an educator and university professor in the field of volleyball.

As she says herself: I decided to present my athletic autobiography, not out of arrogance, as if I had done such great things, but to support my philosophy about sports and how I succeeded in the goals I set. Thus, as an example for younger athletes, coaches, and future students. Another reason was that I wanted to present the history of the sport 53 years ago when I started, the difficult years of the sport, from the open court of YMCA Thessaloniki with asphalt as the playing surface, to today's taraflex courts.

Also, to tell how I chose my profession, how I loved the sport with such passion, more generally my philosophy about the development of the sport, the challenges I always faced without ever considering the money. It was a beautiful life journey with many joys, but of course, I also encountered many disappointments. It is very important to mention the key people in the decisions of my life and to thank them. Overall, I consider the review of my volleyball-filled career positive.

I hope that those who are interested in reading this autobiography will benefit in some way because here, in this way, I want to teach something as a "teacher," which I consider myself to be (once a teacher, always a teacher).

Dedicated to my children Lambros and Fereniki and to my grandchildren Cleanthis and Kalia, the most precious treasures in my life.
