The Celestron 5 SLT refractor telescope features a NexStar GoTo robotic mount that locates celestial objects from a database of more than 4,000 entries. With SkyAlign technology, it aligns with three celestial objects, such as stars, planets or the Moon, without requiring you to know their names. It is suitable for beginners and for terrestrial or astronomical observation.
The StarPointer finder helps with alignment and locating objects. The stainless steel tripod, optical tube, single-arm mount and accessory tray connect and detach quickly without tools. The telescope runs on 8 AA batteries, which are not included, or an optional power adapter.
The hand controller can be removed from its holder for remote operation. It lets you select objects from the catalog, change the slewing speed and view information about objects and their visibility. It includes NSOL software for computer control, as well as a CD-ROM with The Sky astronomy software and printable sky maps.
