Premium Yunnan Black Tea 500 g

Ingredients: 100% Yunnan black tea

Yunnan black tea comes from the mountainous Yunnan province in China, near the borders with Vietnam, Burma, and Laos. It is a tea with delicate leaves that contain many “golden tips,” producing a light, refreshing, and aromatic beverage.

Yunnan tea plants are characterized by broad, fleshy leaves with a glossy surface. Its flavor is subtle and appreciated by tea lovers worldwide. It is noted that the Yunnan region has about 200 local tea varieties, many of which are considered among the best classic tea qualities in the world.

Black tea is what most people imagine when they think of a cup of tea. 80% of the tea consumed worldwide is black tea. It is fully fermented and contains the highest amount of caffeine among all teas. It also contains flavonoids, which strengthen blood vessels, inhibit the growth of bacteria in the digestive system, and stimulate the secretion of digestive fluids. Flavonoids are known for their beneficial and stabilizing effect on blood pressure.

The production of black tea involves four basic stages:

  • Withering: Fresh tea leaves are withered to prevent their surface from cracking during rolling.
  • Rolling or twisting: During this process, the leaves release a fruity aroma reminiscent of apples.
  • Fermentation: The rolled leaves are left for several hours to absorb oxygen, causing chemical changes that turn the leaves from green to reddish-brown.
  • Drying: The oxidized leaves are exposed to high temperatures to stop natural decomposition and acquire their final black color and distinctive aromatic flavor.

The packaging includes a thick doypack bag with a resealable closure for easy storage. The color of the bag may vary, such as silver or kraft/eco-friendly.
