Exceptionally mild loose leaf tea made from stems and veins of tea leaves. Kukicha Shizuoka is a delicate and everyday green tea, ideal for any time of the day.

  • Origin: Main tea from stems, shoots, and main veins of tea leaves, separated during the production of Sencha or Gyokuro.
  • Region: Plantations from Shizuoka Prefecture, the center of Japanese tea culture.
  • Caffeine: Very low content, suitable for those sensitive to theine, children, and as an evening tea.
  • Taste: Mild, herbal-vegetal, slight sweetness, with notes of hay, nuts, and fresh sprigs, no bitterness, mild finish.
  • Contents: 100 g.

Brewing instructions:

  • Tea amount: 2 g (heaping teaspoon) per 200 ml water
  • Water temperature: 75–80°C

Product information:

  • Ingredients: 100% green tea from stems (Kukicha)

Traditional brewing method: relaxation method (yasumi-cha)

In Japan, Kukicha is sometimes called yasumi-cha – “rest tea,” drunk in moments of calm relaxation, including the evening. The brewing method is simple but important – temperature and time must bring out its sweetness and exclude even a hint of bitterness.

Step-by-step instructions:

  • Put 2 g Kukicha Shizuoka in a kyusu teapot or larger mug.
  • Pour water at 75–78°C.
  • Steep for 90 seconds – the leaves and stems gradually release their flavor.
  • Pour the infusion slowly and gently.
  • Second brewing: 30–40 seconds, third: 1 minute – the tea retains full flavor even after multiple infusions.

This tea is ideal for afternoon relaxation, creative work, or a peaceful evening moment.
