In contrast to the base game, this expansion divides the board into three different areas (islands). At the beginning, only the central island is known. Players must build ships, board settlers and crew, and set sail into the unknown to discover the remaining hidden hexes of the area!
1. Fighting the Pirates: Equip your ships with crew, locate the pirates' hideouts, and defeat them to gain gold and points.
2. Spice Trade: Discover native villages, buy spices, and acquire special permanent abilities (e.g. faster ships).
3. Rich Fishing Grounds: Gather fish from the sea and return them to the Council of Catan for generous rewards.
