Excellent black tea with a golden color and delicate flavor, originating from the highlands of Sri Lanka. It is recommended to brew 2 grams of tea in 200 ml of water at a temperature of 95-100°C.
Black tea is what most people imagine when they think of a cup of tea. 80% of tea consumed worldwide is black tea. It is fully fermented and contains the highest amount of caffeine compared to all other teas. It also contains flavonoids, which strengthen blood vessels, inhibit the growth of bacteria in the digestive system, and stimulate the secretion of digestive juices. Flavonoids are also known for their beneficial, stabilizing effect on blood pressure.
Main stages of black tea production:
- Withering: Fresh leaves are withered to prevent the surface from cracking during rolling.
- Rolling or twisting: During this process, the leaves release a fruity aroma reminiscent of apples.
- Fermentation: The rolled leaves are left for several hours to absorb oxygen, causing chemical changes that turn the leaves from green to reddish-brown.
- Drying: The oxidized leaves are exposed to high temperatures to stop further natural decomposition, resulting in the final black color and characteristic aroma of the tea.
It is important to note that the tea will be packed in a thick pouch. For every 1 kg of tea, a metallized doypack pouch is added. Every shipment is treated as the most important, ensuring all packages are properly secured for transport.
