The Nike Claybreaker technology ensures better grip and less accumulation of clay on the court. The added traction in the forefoot and midsole combines with a wide grip pattern to keep you in control during sliding movements. The shoe's design utilized traction and pressure maps, while analyzing points of clay buildup. It was tested on red clay courts in Europe under varying weather conditions.
Reduced weight
The herringbone traction pattern is made from a new composite rubber that is lighter compared to previous Vapor models. The hard plastic section in the midsole has been reinstated for optimal stability and transitions during cuts. The support section allowed for the removal of part of the rubber, thereby reducing the overall weight of the shoe.
Dynamic energy transfer
The rigid frame wraps around the supportive surface in the midsole and extends from the heel to the toes for a more stable feel. It provides stability for transferring power during intense sliding movements, cuts, and rotations.
Lightweight upper
The weight of the specialized mesh weaving has been reduced while maintaining durability in the areas of greatest wear near the toes.
