Vertical Blinds - Vertical Shades

A characteristic of vertical blinds is that they are ideal for applications with great height.

How We Measure:

  • When the window has a recess, we measure the entire width inside the recess and subtract a small gap from each side of 0.5-1cm, or more if necessary (e.g. hole for cables).
  • We measure the entire height inside the recess and subtract from the bottom side (practically as much gap as desired), but usually this ranges from 2-3cm, so the blinds or the chain that connects them do not touch the bottom.

These are the final dimensions needed for the construction of the vertical blinds.

For a Simple Window:

  • For the width of the window, we add 5-10cm on each side to always have sufficient overlap.
  • For the height of the window, we add 5-10cm at the top for mounting the blinds' supports.
  • At the bottom of the window, we add as much as desired, usually ranging from 5-10cm. If there is an obstacle (e.g. radiator), it must be taken into consideration.
  • If you have an inward opening window, calculate extra width on that side for the blinds to gather at the side of the window from the outside.

For Balcony Doors:

  • The same rules apply as for a simple window, with one difference: from the total height, subtract 2-3cm from the bottom so the blinds do not touch the floor.

Blind Direction:

  • As a rule, the blinds gather on the opposite side where the window handle is located.
  • The controller is placed on the same side.
