Vertical Blinds - Vertical Shades
A characteristic of vertical blinds is that they are ideal for applications with large height.
First of All… How to Measure:
- When the window has a recess: Measure the full width inside the recess and subtract a small gap from each side of 0.5-1cm, or more if necessary (e.g., a hole for cables).
- Measure the full height inside the recess and subtract from the bottom (practically as much gap as desired), but usually this ranges from 2-3cm, so that the blinds or the chain that connects them do not touch the bottom.
These are the final dimensions needed for manufacturing the vertical blinds.
On a Simple Window:
- For the width of the window, add 5-10cm on each side to always have sufficient overlap.
- For the height of the window, add 5-10cm at the top to screw in the supports of the blinds. Attention: Make sure that at the desired height there are no embedded cables.
- At the bottom of the window, practically add as much as you want. Usually this ranges from 5-10cm, and if there is an obstacle (e.g., radiator), it must be taken into account.
If there is an inward-opening window and you do not want the blinds to interfere with the window opening when gathered, calculate a wider width from that side.
For Balcony Doors: They follow the same rules as the simple window, with one difference: From the total height of the balcony door, add 10-15cm at the top, and subtract 2-3cm at the bottom.
Blinds Orientation:
- The normal direction of the blinds is towards the opposite side from the window handle.
- The control is also placed on the same side.
