History and Plant Morphology: Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) is a perennial, aromatic plant with small, purple flowers known for their intense fragrance. It has been used since ancient times as a medicinal and cosmetic plant. In ancient Greece, doctors recommended lavender for the treatment of indigestion and headaches. The Romans used it in baths for relaxation, while in medieval Europe it was considered a plant with magical properties that protected against evil spirits.

Properties:

  • Relief from headaches and migraines: Used as a relaxant and sedative.
  • Against hypertension and nervous tension: The scent of lavender can lower blood pressure.
  • Soothing for insomnia: Helps improve sleep quality.
  • Antiseptic action: Used for disinfecting minor wounds.

Usage: 1 tablespoon of lavender is steeped with 1 glass of boiling water in a covered container. Let stand for 10-15 minutes and strain before use. Ideal for both vegetarians and vegans.
