Historical Information and Plant Morphology: Organic thyme is an aromatic, perennial shrub belonging to the Lamiaceae family and originates from the Mediterranean region. It has been known since ancient times for its use in medicine and cooking. The ancient Egyptians used it for embalming the dead.
