Description

Packaging 40 g containing the aerial parts of the plant. Other Names: Artichoke, Akalifi & Nettle.

Historical Background and Plant Morphology: Nettle (Urtica dioica) is a perennial plant found worldwide, especially in temperate regions. Its leaves are covered with fine hairs containing histamine, which causes itching when in contact with the skin. In traditional medicine, nettle has been used since ancient times as a tonic and blood purifier, as well as for the treatment of pain and skin conditions.

Properties:

  • Treatment of anemia: Rich in iron and vitamin C, which enhances iron absorption.
  • Blood purifier and tonic: Cleanses the blood and strengthens the body’s functions.
  • Arthritis and rheumatism: Anti-inflammatory properties that reduce pain and stiffness.
  • Gallstones and kidney stones: Diuretic properties that help eliminate waste substances.
  • Detoxification of the body: Enhances the body’s detoxification process.
  • Against hair loss and dandruff: Use in washes strengthens the hair root.
  • Increase of milk production in breastfeeding mothers: Galactogenic properties.
  • Metabolic disorders: Helps regulate body functions.

Usage Instructions: 1 tablespoon of crushed nettle (or a pinch of uncrushed) is steeped with 1 glass of boiling water in a covered container, left for 10-15 minutes, and strained before use. For washes, prepare the above tea more concentrated with a dose of 50-60 g per liter of water.

Origin: Greece, Imathia Prefecture (collected from the Pieria Mountains, at low altitude).

Storage: In a dark and cool place (5°C – 15°C).
