Historical information: Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) is a perennial plant mainly found in temperate regions. Its name derives from the mythical hero Achilles, who used it to heal wounds. Known in folk medicine for its healing properties, it is used for wound healing and digestion regulation.

Properties:

  • Helps reduce blood pressure.
  • Supports the treatment of colitis and nervous gastropathies.
  • Relieves rheumatism.
  • Contributes to lowering cholesterol and triglycerides.
  • Has beneficial effects on incontinence and hemorrhoids.
  • Has astringent and healing properties.

Usage: 1 tablespoon of yarrow is steeped in 1 glass of boiling water in a covered container, left for 10-15 minutes, and strained before use. For washes, prepare a more concentrated tea with 50-60 g in one liter of water.

Origin: Greece, Imathia Prefecture.

Storage: In a dark and cool place (5°C – 15°C).

Side effects: Excessive consumption may cause allergic reactions. Avoid use during pregnancy.
