History and Plant Morphology: Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) is an aromatic shrub belonging to the Lamiaceae family. It mainly grows in warm Mediterranean areas. Its name derives from the Latin ros (dew) and marinus (sea). The plant has thin, needle-like leaves and blue-purple flowers.
Properties:
- Stimulates blood circulation and nervous function.
- Antidepressant, used to reduce psychological tension.
- Tonic against hair loss, strengthens the hair roots.
- Improves digestion and treats bloating.
- Soothes headaches.
Usage: 1 tablespoon of crushed rosemary is scalded with 1 glass of boiling water. It is left for 10-15 minutes and strained before use. For rinses, a more concentrated preparation is made with a dose of 50-60 gr. in one liter of water.
