Senna (Senna alexandrina)
Senna is a well-known medicinal plant primarily used for its laxative effect. It belongs to the Fabaceae family and is native to North Africa and India. Senna leaves were used during the ancient Egyptian period to treat gastrointestinal problems.

- Usage: 1 tablespoon of crushed Senna is steeped in 1 glass of boiling water, left for 1–2 hours, and strained before use.
- Origin: Egypt.
- Storage: In a dark and cool place (5°C – 15°C).
Side effects: Prolonged use or overdose may cause diarrhea, dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, or intestinal dependence. Not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women, children under 12 years old, or individuals with intestinal obstructions or inflammatory bowel diseases.
