It was cultivated from the 19th century and introduced to Europe as a therapeutic agent. In Germany, studies began in 1938 on its effectiveness, concluding that it boosts the immune system.

Properties: Research shows that Echinacea contains active substances that stimulate white blood cell activity and exhibit antimicrobial properties. Its use has been proven beneficial in reducing the duration of common cold symptoms.

Usage: 1 tablespoon of crushed echinacea is steeped with 1 glass of boiling water in a covered container, left for 10-15 minutes, and strained before use.

Origin: Greece, Imathia Prefecture.

Storage: In a dark and cool place (5°C – 15°C).

Side Effects: Echinacea may cause allergic reactions in individuals sensitive to plants of the Asteraceae family. Prolonged use without breaks is not recommended. People with autoimmune diseases or taking immunosuppressive drugs should consult their doctor before use.
