Historical Data and Plant Morphology: Valerian (Valeriana officinalis) is a perennial plant that thrives in temperate regions. It has been known since ancient times for its soothing properties. The roots of the plant were traditionally used to treat insomnia and nervous tension. Valerian is characterized by a strong smell, and its roots are rich in essential oils.
Properties:
- Against insomnia: Helps improve sleep quality.

Usage: 1 teaspoon of grated valerian is placed in a container with 1 glass of water. Boil for 5–10 minutes and let it steep before straining. Consume warm, up to 3 times a day.
