Milk Thistle Seed Oil

100% cold-pressed, unrefined milk thistle seed oil.

The milk thistle (Silybum marianum) is an important industrial plant cultivated in many countries, including Poland. It is grown for its seeds, which contain bioflavonoids, with silymarin being the most active compound.

The silymarin content in milk thistle seeds ranges between 1.5-3%. Silymarin is a mixture of flavonolignans, with silybin being the most significant flavonoid.

Milk thistle seed oil has a fatty acid composition similar to that of edible olive oils, and its profile of phytosterols is closer to that of soybean oil. It also contains certain amounts of flavonoids, mainly silymarin, which enhances the oxidative stability of the oil.

This oil can be used both internally and externally.

Directions for use:

• Internal use: 3 times a day, 1 teaspoon about 30 minutes before meals or as an addition to cold dishes, e.g., salads, eggs.
• External use: apply a small amount of oil to the skin and massage.

Storage:

After opening, store in the refrigerator in a dark glass bottle with a tightly closed cap, out of reach of children, away from light and air.
