Description

Wintersteiger Warm Glidewax, also known as yellow wax, is a specialized glide wax for skis and snowboards, designed exclusively for warm, wet, and spring snow conditions. It is produced in environmentally friendly versions, based on plant oils instead of petroleum derivatives.

Specifications & Temperature Range:

  • Suitable for temperatures: Ideal for snow/air temperatures from 0°C up to above +4°C.
  • Snow type: Wet, fresh warm snow, spring (slush) or artificial snow with high moisture content.
  • Function: In warm conditions, a thin layer of water forms between the ski base and the snow causing suction. This particular wax is soft and extremely hydrophobic, resulting in repelling water and dirt to maintain maximum speed.

Application Tips (Hot Wax):

  • Cleaning: Thoroughly clean the ski/snowboard base from previous waxes and dirt.
  • Melting: Set the iron to 120°C-125°C and drip the wax evenly.
  • Ironing: Pass the iron from tip to tail without holding it stationary at any point to avoid burning the base.
  • Scraping & Brushing: Let the wax cool completely for at least 10-15 minutes. Scrape off the excess with a plastic scraper and finish the surface with a nylon brush to enhance the base structure.
