The Wintersteiger metal scraper is an essential maintenance tool, specially designed for removing excess P-Tex and bonding materials during the repair of ski and snowboard bases. The metal version offers the hardness and precision required to bring the repair level with the rest of the base.
Fixed Metal Scraper (125 x 60 x 0.7 mm): The classic, compact choice made from high-quality hardened steel. It features perfectly aligned edges and comes with a plastic protective cover.
Main Uses:
- Removal of P-Tex: Easily scrapes off the excess material once the repair has dried and cooled.
- Base alignment: Smooths out irregularities and restores the flat surface of the ski.
- Cleaning stubborn residues: Removes hard layers of old wax or dirt that do not come off with a plastic scraper.
Proper Usage:
- Allow the material to cool: Wait for the P-Tex to fully stabilize before starting.
- Working angle: Hold the scraper at a slight angle in the direction you push or pull (about 45-60 degrees).
- Direction: Always work from the nose toward the tail of the ski.
- Gentle pressure: Use small, controlled movements to avoid accidentally damaging the remaining healthy slide layer of the base.
Note: Due to its sharpness, the metal scraper is not recommended for daily scraping of simple wax, as there is a risk of damaging the base structure if incorrect pressure is applied.
