    I upgraded from a 5800X.
    I have a 9070XT and I’m on a 3440x1440 resolution, so 2K ultrawide.
    GUYS, IT’S NIGHT AND DAY.
The max FPS didn’t change much, maybe about 5% higher.
But the 1% low and average.... forget it.....
Before, I had full stutters and pretty big drops in all the triple A games. Now I haven’t seen below 100 FPS. The CPU is an amazing upgrade for those of us who are stuck on the AM4 platform.
With -28mV on all cores and with the carbon nanotube sheet it comes with, I didn’t see more than 73 degrees on air.

The best gaming CPU for its socket and generally for DDR4 compatibility. This is the second time I’m buying it, as I’ve had a non-anniversary edition for years. Due to an accident I had, some pins broke; it was repaired, but over the years it started to underperform (which was expected). A very good CPU, but also very hot. So it needs a very good cooler, especially if someone doesn’t want to deal with undervolting, etc. Right now I have it with Curve Optimizer -30 to all cores and PPT 100W, TDC 70A, EDC 100A with an old AIO cooler, the Kraken x62. With these settings I’m at 82C in an AVX2 stress test with OCCT. I haven’t had the chance to test gaming yet, as I’m still running tests. So far, the undervolt is going well. Without undervolting, I was hitting tj Max 90-91C and had thermal throttling. Also worth mentioning is that inside the box they include a Carbice Ice Pad as a gift, which I’m using instead of thermal paste. I’m happy with the numbers I’m seeing so far, especially if I don’t have to deal again with cleaning and replacing paste... They say this pad needs to go through a few cycles first (hot-cold) before it starts performing optimally. But I don’t know if that’s true. Maybe I’ll do an update after some time, once I’ve played some games, both for the CPU and for the pad.
