Gothic - The Story of the Colonies of Khorinis

War has engulfed the entire kingdom of Myrtana. Hordes of orcs have attacked human lands, and the king needs enormous amounts of ore to forge weapons capable of meeting the threat. In these dark times, anyone who breaks the law is condemned to serve their sentence in the great penal colony of Khorinis, where they are forced to mine the precious metal.

The magical barrier

The entire region, known as "The Colony," is surrounded by a magical barrier - a sphere about two kilometers in diameter - that completely isolates the colony from the outside world. The barrier can only be crossed from the outside to the inside, but once you get in, no one can escape. What was intended as a measure of control turned into a perfect trap, and the prisoners quickly took advantage of the situation, starting a revolt.

The world inside the colony

The colony was divided into three rival factions, each fighting for survival and control. The king was forced to negotiate for the ore instead of demanding it by force, and the balance of power changed completely.

In the heart of chaos

You are thrown into this great prison without allies or safety. With your back against the wall, you must survive, form fragile alliances, and find your own way in a dangerous world until you finally manage to escape.
