The Cort Artisan Space 5 Star Dust Green is a five-string, headless solid-body electric bass designed with modern ergonomics and optimal weight balance in mind. Its body combines solid soft maple with a 6 mm poplar burl top in a gloss finish. The bolt-on neck is made of seven pieces of roasted maple, walnut, and purpleheart, and is paired with a roasted maple fingerboard featuring 24 frets, a zero fret, and luminous side markers. The electronics include two Bartolini MK-1 pickups, a 3-band active preamp, and a bypass switch for passive operation. The setup is completed by the Cort Headless Individual Bridge System, with individual bridges, and includes a factory-fitted gig bag.
Basic Features
Headless Design & Body Construction Materials
The headless design eliminates the traditional headstock and moves the tuning system to the base of the body, completely preventing neck dive and dramatically reducing the overall length. The solid Soft Maple body delivers a sharp attack, focused mids, and a tight response on the low B string. The 6 mm Poplar Burl top features deep ergonomic contours for comfortable forearm positioning, while the Star Dust Green finish protects the wood from moisture and wear without restricting its natural resonance.
Multi-ply Roasted Maple Neck & Fingerboard
The neck is constructed from seven combined sections (7-Piece Roasted Maple, Walnut & Purpleheart), providing maximum structural stability against changes in temperature and humidity. Roasting the maple removes excess moisture and enhances acoustic resonance. The fingerboard has a 15.75" (400 mm) radius, a 34" (864 mm) scale length, and 24 frets. The integrated metal Zero Fret ensures consistent tonal response between open and fretted notes, while the luminous Luminescent Side Dots provide clear positioning in low-light conditions.
Bartolini MK-1 Electronics & Cort Bridge Units
The electrical system features a pair of Bartolini MK-1 dual-coil pickups, delivering a linear response with clear mids and dynamic highs, free from unwanted noise. The Active 3-Band EQ circuit allows independent control of the Bass, Middle, and Treble frequencies, while the Mini-Toggle EQ Bypass switch converts the system to fully passive mode. The mounting system is based on independent Cort Headless Individual Bridge units with 18 mm string spacing. They isolate vibrations for each string and accommodate standard single-ball-end strings.
