This edition was initiated by the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) and the Pan-Hellenic Union of Fighters and Friends of EPON-PEAFE and is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE). Two more volumes and a booklet will follow.

This publication serves as a bridge between yesterday and today during a period when it is worthwhile to remember and study the past, in order to become better, more combative, and more capable in the contemporary struggle. It expresses gratitude to the youth of EPON for their fights and sacrifices, during difficult years of occupation and the equally tough years that followed after liberation.

It is certain that young people, at every stage of life, are distinguished by a thirst for the new, the innovative, and the pioneering.

No matter how many times one reads New Generation throughout its publication period, in different political conditions, one cannot help but marvel and, most importantly, draw valuable timeless conclusions, regardless of some elements having changed.

It is inspiring and impressive how EPON’s efforts, through its organ, contribute to the cultural and aesthetic development of its members and readers. Literature, poetry, and all forms of art pass through the pages of New Generation, embodying human and youthful sensitivity in all its richness.

The artistic design of the editions, especially the covers, reveals that art is the best friend of the struggle, inseparable from the hard fight for freedom, progress, and socialism.

The publication is introduced by Aleka Papariga, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece, Giannis Protoulis, Secretary of the Central Council of KNE, and Nikos Karathenos, resistance fighter and journalist.
