Poplar Body Construction & Cutaway Scoop Ergonomics

The instrument's body is made from select solid poplar (Solid Poplar), a tonewood that offers balanced acoustic weight, a neutral frequency response, and stable resonance. The body geometry is based on the vintage Stratocaster lines of the 1963–1964 period, incorporating modern PRS functional enhancements such as the distinctive scoop in the lower cutaway (Cutaway Scoop). This modification maximizes freedom of movement for the hand around the upper frets. Ergonomic contours on the back (belly cut) and front ensure stable support and even weight distribution when playing both standing and seated.

635JM Neck & 8.5" Radius Rosewood Fingerboard

The neck is made from a single piece of maple (Maple) and joins the body with a classic bolt-on connection, ensuring direct mechanical coupling and structural rigidity. It is shaped to the distinctive 635JM Carve profile, faithfully reproducing the dimensions and rounded geometry of instruments from the early 1960s. The rosewood (Rosewood) fingerboard has an 8.5" (216 mm) radius, combining a classic feel with smooth bends without notes choking out prematurely. It features 22 Vintage Small frets, Small Birds inlays, and an inverted PRS headstock, which ensures an even string break angle behind the 41.45 mm nut for improved vibration transfer.

Electronics 635JM “S” & Mounting Hardware

The electronics feature three single-coil PRS 635JM "S" pickups, designed specifically to deliver a full, round sound with clear highs and no excessive harshness. The 5-way blade switch offers the classic single-pickup and in-between positions, while the control layout includes a Master Volume and two separate tone knobs (with the lower knob directly controlling the bridge pickup). The hardware features the PRS Patented Steel Tremolo with two-point contact, paired with vintage-style sealed tuners for accurate intonation, smooth vibrato, and reliable tuning stability.
