Description
The R2105 of Cradlepoint is a mobile router, a device that connects other devices (e.g. computer, mobile, television) wirelessly, and shares internet access. It receives internet access through the integrated modem and uses the mobile network by installing a SIM card. The SIM card needs to have an active data connection.
It connects to the 5G network, which offers significantly higher speeds than 4G. To operate at this speed, the device needs to have corresponding coverage from the mobile network in the area we are in.
It is Wi-Fi 6 generation, the most modern Wi-Fi standard that offers speeds up to 40% higher than Wi-Fi 5. It coordinates communication with connected devices to consume less battery and works better in environments with many Wi-Fi devices. Ideal for homes with many smart devices. It emits a signal at two frequencies, 2.4 & 5GHz. It offers higher speeds compared to single band and can connect more devices. The 2.4Ghz frequency is the most widespread and has a long range. The 5Ghz provides higher speeds than 2.4Ghz but is more sensitive to obstacles (e.g. walls) that reduce its range. This difference, as well as its more limited use, helps to have fewer interferences from other networks.
With MAC address filtering, it allows specific devices to connect based on their unique MAC address, excluding any device with a MAC address that has not been defined as acceptable.
