The PRS SE McCarty 594 Doublecut Charcoal is a vintage-specification, double-cutaway solid-body electric guitar designed for rich sustain and classic tonal response. Its body is made of solid mahogany with a carved maple cap and a flame maple veneer. The set mahogany neck features the traditional Pattern Vintage profile, paired with a 10-inch-radius rosewood fingerboard, 22 frets, and PRS Birds inlays. The instrument uses a classic 24.594-inch scale length, providing exceptionally comfortable string tension while playing. The electronics include a pair of passive PRS 58/15 LT “S” humbuckers with independent coil-splitting via push-pull switches on the tone controls. The hardware is completed by the PRS Two-Piece Bridge, made of zinc and brass.

McCarty Doublecut Body Construction & Carved Flame Maple

The guitar's body follows the traditional specifications of the McCarty platform, combining a solid mahogany body (Solid Mahogany) with a maple cap (Maple Cap) topped with flame maple veneer (Flame Maple Veneer). Mahogany provides rich acoustic weight, extended sustain, and a balanced response in the low-mid frequencies, while the maple cap contributes clarity and dynamic attack. The Shallow Violin Carve, combined with the double-cutaway design, provides balanced weight distribution and unrestricted access to the upper frets. The Charcoal finish highlights the wood's natural grain while protecting the surface from environmental wear.

Vintage Pattern Neck, 24.594" Scale & Rosewood Fingerboard

The neck is crafted from a single piece of mahogany and joined to the body with a glued Set-Neck construction, maximizing wood-to-wood contact for direct transfer of acoustic vibrations. It features the asymmetrical Pattern Vintage profile, providing a substantial palm-filling feel for comfortable chord playing and bends. The distinctive 24.594" (624.69 mm) scale length slightly reduces string tension, making the guitar feel softer and more natural to play. The rosewood (Rosewood) fingerboard has a 10" (254 mm) radius, 22 Medium Jumbo frets, and faux-bone binding around the edges, framed by the iconic PRS Birds inlays.

Electronics 58/15 LT “S,” Independent Coil Split & Two-Piece PRS Bridge

The electrical system features a pair of passive PRS 58/15 LT "S" (Low Turns) humbuckers, designed with fewer coil windings for vintage PAF clarity, balanced mids and a natural dynamic response. The classic control layout includes independent Volume and Tone knobs for each pickup, with two Push-Pull Coil-Split switches on the tone controls, allowing individual coils to be split for authentic single-coil tones. The hardware is built around the PRS Two-Piece Bridge with brass saddles and a separate stop tailpiece, which, combined with the PRS Vintage-Style tuners, ensures excellent intonation and maximum resonance transfer to the body of the instrument.
