The PRS SE NF3 Ice Blue Metallic is a six-string, double-cutaway solid-body electric guitar designed around PRS’s Narrowfield pickup platform. The body is made from selected solid poplar and features ergonomic contours on the back and where the picking arm rests. Its bolt-on, one-piece maple neck has a Wide Thin profile and satin finish, paired with a 10-inch-radius maple fretboard, 22 frets, and PRS Birds inlays. The electronics feature three Narrowfield DD “S” (Deep Dish) pickups in an SSS configuration with a 5-way blade switch. The hardware is rounded out with PRS’s patented tremolo and PRS-designed sealed tuning machines.

Poplar Body Construction & Cutaway Ergonomics

The guitar body is made from selected solid poplar (Solid Poplar), a material that provides a balanced tonal response with rich midrange, clear highs, and moderate acoustic weight. The body’s geometry follows PRS’s timeless double-cutaway design, with ergonomic comfort contours on the back (belly carve) and a forearm contour on the front for a natural playing position. The glossy Ice Blue Metallic finish effectively protects the wood from moisture, temperature fluctuations, and surface wear, while highlighting the body’s contours alongside the multi-ply pickguard.

Maple Wide Thin Neck & Maple Fingerboard

The neck is constructed from a single piece of Maple and joined to the body with a sturdy four-bolt connection, ensuring direct mechanical coupling and resistance to warping. It features the ergonomic Wide Thin profile, with a low-friction satin finish on the back for fast hand movement. The maple fingerboard has a modern 10" (254 mm) radius and a medium 25" (635 mm) scale length, and features 22 frets with the iconic PRS Birds inlays. The 42.86 mm nut width ensures smooth string movement and stability when bending.

Narrowfield DD “S” Pickups & Tremolo System

The electrical system incorporates three PRS Narrowfield DD "S" (Deep Dish) pickups. Their design is based on a narrower coil with a deeper winding and additional steel components between the pickups, delivering a clear, focused single-coil tone while fully eliminating unwanted hum. The 5-way blade switch offers classic individual and combination positions, while the controls are rounded out by Master Volume and Master Tone knobs. The hardware setup features the patented die-cast PRS Patented Tremolo paired with PRS-Designed tuners, ensuring precise return to pitch and reliable tuning stability.
