The PRS SE Studio Orange Tiger is a double-cutaway solid-body electric guitar designed for maximum tonal versatility in the studio and on stage. Its body is made of solid mahogany with a carved maple cap and flame maple veneer. The set maple neck features an ergonomic Wide Thin profile, paired with a 10-inch-radius rosewood fingerboard, 22 frets, and PRS Birds inlays. The electronics feature an HSS configuration with a 58/15 “S” humbucker at the bridge and two PRS NF 53/15 “S” Narrowfield single-coil pickups in the middle and neck positions, plus a push-pull coil-split switch. The hardware is rounded out by the patented PRS Tremolo and PRS-Designed sealed tuners.

Mahogany Body Construction & Carved Maple Top

The body combines a solid mahogany base (Solid Mahogany) with a maple cap (Maple Cap) and an outer flame maple veneer (Flame Maple Veneer). Mahogany provides a dense acoustic weight, extended sustain, and a balanced response in the low-mid frequencies, while the maple cap enhances clarity and the dynamic attack of each note. The Shallow Violin Carve offers ergonomic right-hand positioning and playing comfort. The glossy exterior finish in Orange Tiger brings out the wood’s natural grain while protecting the surface from environmental changes and mechanical wear.

Wide Thin Neck & Rosewood Fingerboard

The neck is made of maple and joins the body with a glued Set-Neck construction, ensuring direct transfer of acoustic vibrations and high structural stability. It features a Wide Thin profile, measuring 20.6 mm thick at the 1st fret and 22.6 mm at the 12th fret, offering a comfortable thumb position and low resistance during fast transitions. The solid rosewood (Rosewood) fingerboard has a 10" (254 mm) radius and PRS’s classic intermediate 25" (635 mm) scale length, balancing string tension. It features 22 Medium Jumbo frets with the iconic PRS Birds inlays, while the 42.8 mm nut width ensures precise string spacing.

Electronics HSS Narrowfield, Coil-Split & Hardware

The electrical circuit is based on the HSS Studio configuration, combining a PRS 58/15 "S" humbucker at the bridge with two PRS NF 53/15 "S" Narrowfield pickups in the middle and neck positions. The Narrowfield pickups deliver classic single-coil punch and clarity while completely rejecting 60 Hz hum. The Master Tone control features a Push-Pull Coil-Split switch, isolating the outer coil of the bridge pickup to produce clear vintage Stratocaster tones via the 5-way blade selector. The hardware includes a die-cast PRS Patented Tremolo and PRS-Designed tuners, ensuring smooth vibrato operation, precise intonation, and stable tuning.
