The discussions and debates about the Civil War have their own long history. A series of issues and aspects of the period have occupied the leftist world and, more broadly, historians and parties. Often, it resembles a turmoil filled with references to personalities and situations shrouded in the mists of time.

The book is an attempt to place these topics in a series, not necessarily in a strictly chronological order.
