How to Choose the Right Diameter
The filter diameter must match the diameter of your lens thread. This value is marked on the lens or on the front cap, preceding the symbol Ø (e.g., Ø67 means a 67mm thread). Choose the filter variant with the same diameter.

The Reason for Using a UV Protection Filter
The UV filter has a dual function: it filters ultraviolet rays (reducing atmospheric haze and blue shades, especially at high altitudes or near the sea) and, more importantly for modern digital cameras, naturally protects the front element of the lens. A scratch or impact on the filter means replacing an economical filter, not the entire lens. The filter remains permanently mounted as a protective layer.
