The CAST series was designed based on the idea of uninterfering design — a design that does not obstruct. Every proportion, every angle, and the thickness of the glass have been worked on so that the cup does not attract attention; it simply sits properly in the hand and lets the beverage be the focus.
Why glass for espresso
The transparent wall shows what porcelain hides: the color of the extraction, the thickness and stability of the crema, the layers in a macchiato. It is one of the few cups where you can see if your espresso is pulled right even before you taste it.
The handle
Despite its small size, the handle is real — it comfortably fits a finger and holds the cup balanced. It is not a decorative element as in many glass cups of this category.
Practical advice
90 ml is the capacity up to the rim; the effective dose is around 60–70 ml, that is a double espresso or an espresso macchiato. Since the glass is thin and the cup weighs only 50 g, it does not retain heat like thick porcelain: preheat the cup with hot water before extraction. It takes seconds and makes a noticeable difference in the temperature of the beverage.
Beware of sudden temperature changes
The glass withstands a temperature difference of up to 120 °C. Do not pour cold liquid inside while the cup is hot and do not place the hot cup on a wet surface or cloth.
