The piston has undergone heat treatment with a T-5 hardening and annealing cycle. The piston skirt is coated with a high-tech molybdenum disulfide coating for faster break-in and extended service life. It is made from a cast aluminum alloy with an 18% silicon content. This piston is an OE replacement.
