Carlo Domeniconi's Sindbad Cycle I, Op. 49 is the first of three cycles of Sindbad – A Fairy Tale for Guitar, a musical "fairy tale" for solo guitar. The work, composed in 1991, is inspired by the Arabian tales of Sinbad the Sailor and combines storytelling, Oriental influences, and contemporary guitar writing. The first cycle consists of seven parts, which present the beginning of the story and Sindbad's first journey. The parts can be performed either separately or as a complete cycle.
