Suede is the underside of the leather, smoothed to achieve a soft and velvety feel. It comes from farms in the Rio Grande do Sul region and is tanned in Brazil without harmful or banned chemicals. VEJA uses dyes that comply with regulations and prioritizes responsible water use during the tanning process. The suede is then coated with PFC-free water-repellent oils to protect the shoes from light rain.
