The Axagon CRE-SM4NC card reader supports contact smart cards and identity cards, as well as chip payment cards. It connects to a computer, mobile phone, tablet or laptop via a fixed 1.2 m USB-C cable and works with USB 2.0, CCID and Plug & Play. It supports ISO 7816 and EMV 4.1 standards, T=0 and T=1 protocols, and PC/SC 2.0.

Its base sits on a desk and features a non-slip pad. The LED indicator lights up steadily when a card is inserted and flashes during data transfer. It is compatible with Windows, Linux, macOS and Android, and supports power-saving mode.
